Events & Community

Reading happens beyond the page

Since it was founded in 2019, Mouseion has held more than 20 themed book fairs, 30 public lectures and 50 public reading events, with over 10,000 participants. These lively events have also become fine examples of partnership between the community and a public reading space.

What We Do

A reason to visit Mouseion in every season

Book fair

Themed book fairs

World Book Day, Earth Day, World Forest Day, National Day themes, space and science fiction themes... one book fair takes one kind of book deeper.

Lecture

Public lectures and parent salons

We invite language development experts and seasoned educators to meet parents face to face: talking about reading and child development, and about the pressure to compete and the choices it brings.

Reading club

A reading club with real life

Ongoing shared reading for children rather than a one-off event; reading the same book, and reading each other's ideas.

Theatre

Readers Theatre

Telling stories through performance, speaking like the characters in the story. Emotional expression and scene work happen at the same time.

Festivals

Festival cultural events

A bilingual Mid-Autumn poetry gathering, National Day cultural events, and a series of parent-child shared readings for Mother's Day, Father's Day and Children's Day, letting tradition and language grow together.

Online

Online bilingual reading community

The "Mouseion World Travel" 14-day check-in challenge and the "Classic English Children's Poems" 14-day check-in challenge, giving holiday reading its own rhythm.

Camps

Holiday camps

English Baking Camp, National Geographic science camp, AI Design class — bringing the English classroom into real-world settings.

Expeditions

Family science expeditions and social practice

Explore the mysteries of glaciers with scientists and glaciologists; in partnership with Northwestern University's CTD gifted youth camp, experience American campus life in depth.

Community

A model for community and public reading space partnership

Mouseion is also an excellent space for the community to hold cultural activities and public reading. On occasions such as World Book Day, the Mid-Autumn Festival, National Day and Earth Day, Mouseion works with sub-district offices and the community to run online and offline cultural activities: bilingual poetry reading, a Mid-Autumn cultural evening, a "My Motherland" themed book fair, digital art exhibitions, bilingual science talks...
