First Visit
What can you do on your first visit to Mouseion?
Read, learn, walk around. Your child has an original-text reading experience, parents meet a mentor for 15 minutes, and you receive starting-point advice and a draft reading plan the same day. Please book in advance; we will set aside mentor time for your child.

Before You Ask
A few questions parents ask most
My child has no foundation at all — can they still come?
Yes. Stages M0–M1 are designed specifically for children aged 2–5 with almost no English reading experience, focusing on interest and the link between sound and meaning.
Do I have to buy a course to use the library?
Please refer to the information given during your visit for how the library and reading space are open; public events are open to the community and families.
Can we do just a one-off Reading Ability Assessment?
Yes. The purpose of the assessment is to give starting-point advice and a draft reading plan; whether to enrol is up to you.
My child is already in middle school — is Mouseion still suitable?
Yes. The collection covers ages 4–18, and the M5–M7 academic reading stages, along with the stepped reading series and the Footprint series, are designed for middle-school and high-school aged readers.
